‘But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint’ – Isaiah 40:31
This day last year, I put up Blog 33. The Blessing.
Today, I want to record the verse that carried me through labour and childbirth. These words were the Lord’s promise to me, throughout.
He spoke these words to me repeatedly in the days leading to our daughter’s birth, in the early stage of labour as I began to realise, ‘This is it!’, during the contractions as they intensified, and during the toughest moments of transition. These were the words I clung to. This was the promise that brought me complete peace throughout. This was the promise that rang true, bringing me joy and utter calm despite the challenge of childbirth.
God’s grace is real. It makes an actual and significant difference. These aren’t empty words and nice platitudes He speaks. His promises are real.
This song is based on Isaiah 40:31. It is powerful!
Wait on the Lord. As you wait, praise and worship Him. Through the trials praise and worship Him. When it gets tough, shout your praises louder. And watch Him renew your strength. Mount up on wings like an eagle, run without becoming weary, walk and do not faint!
