ROOTED IN FAITH

1. Ephesians 5:8-11 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.
2. 3 John 1:11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.
3. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 Reject every kind of evil.
4. Deuteronomy 18:9-14 When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the Lord your God. The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do so.
5. Ephesians 6:11-13 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
6. Exodus 20:3-6 “You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Please do not underestimate the reality of the spiritual realm, including the reality of demonic forces and their ability to curse you and your family, to entrap, bring about demonic oppression and to destroy. The enemy comes ‘only to steal, kill and destroy’ (John 10:10). He is also the father of lies (John 8:44). That means he lives to deceive, strategizing ways to reel you into his traps.

I really encourage you to look up John Ramirez on YouTube. An ex-satanist, now living his life for Christ, he exposes the huge dangers for Christians celebrating Halloween. Many of us are blissfully ignorant. However, ignorance is not a protection from the enemy’s schemes. The most innocent aspects of Halloween such as dressing up (even as non-scary characters), carving pumpkins, etc., also hold huge danger. There are no two ways around it. You cannot have your feet in both camps.

Please protect your family and the future generations. Do not fear, but be vigilant.

It is never too late to repent of previous sins, pray for deliverance, and change our ways.
