28. All of Me

‘I call on You, my God, for You will answer me; turn Your ear to me and hear my prayer.’

Psalm 17:6

Some raw thoughts…

When you speak to your Heavenly Father, speak in earnest.

Pray with conviction.

Even if it is a cry for help or a cry of helplessness. Cry it with conviction. Pour out your soul to Him. Do not censor yourself – He can take it. Every utterance. Mean it. Speak it.  Sing it. Declare it. Ask it. Repent. Question. Cry. Wonder. Despair. Laugh. Praise. Thank. Love.

Yes, He hears all. He responds to the smallest of utterances. To the tiniest mustard seed of faith.

I suppose what I’m trying to say is…

When you speak to your Heavenly Father, put all of yourself into it. Whatever that utterance is, give of yourself. Don’t hold back or hide your emotion. Be honest about it all, the pretty and the ugly. He is your number one. Trust Him with your all. Be open and be vulnerable.

He doesn’t look for perfection. ‘I should say it like this’. ‘I should be in this type of head-space to pray about this’. No. Give ALL of yourself, imperfect as you are. He wants you and He loves you – come as you are.

Then wait.

And, watch Him respond. It pleases Him to be in deep relationship with you. He is so fond of you. Deep relationship means trusting and sharing all aspects of who you are with Him. He will work in your life. He will make His presence known to you and you will see that He is alive and moving in your life. For you, personally.

Watch Him do ‘immeasurably more than you could ever ask or imagine, according to His power that is within you’ (Ephesians 3:20). The God of miracles is moving in your life.

Do not limit yourself by aiming for perfection. Don’t restrict yourself. Don’t place limitations on your prayers; don’t restrict Him. The impossible is always ‘possible’ for Him. Don’t think or worry about, ‘How?’ That is not your burden to carry.

No.

GIVE ALL of yourself. Imperfect as you are.

Everything you are. Everything you have. Whether that is an hour long exclamation of praise and thanks, or one tiny desperate phrase, ‘Jesus, help me!’ Presentation doesn’t matter. Heart does. Give your whole heart.

Watch Him respond. Watch Him amaze you. Watch Him pour out His love on you.

His son. His daughter.

All He ever wanted was all of you. All of your heart.

‘The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth’

Psalm 145:18
